熱血喪男這是一個只剩下人類和喪屍互相追殺的世界，但在一群沒有記憶、身分、心跳，除了吞食人腦就沒事可幹的喪屍中，原來仍有人心未泯的另類－R (尼古拉斯侯特 飾)，他只記得自己的名字是 R 字頭，他覺得喪屍的生活好無聊，他很想結交朋友、與外界溝通，他有個名叫 M 的巴打，他們偶爾會「交談」，但基本上都是過著名符其實「行屍走肉」的日子……直至一日，R 在城市的廢墟中遇見一個與別不同的人類－茱麗 (卓麗莎葆瑪 飾)，在四目交投的一刻，R 的心臟竟猛然躍動了一下，這種奇妙的感覺令 R 決定要救她一命，用盡各種方法幫助茱麗逃過一眾喪屍的耳目。就這樣，R 與茱麗展開了一段既甜蜜又危險的「跨界之戀」。他們相處越久，R 就越似人類，喪屍竟開始有微暖體温！這改變更漫延到其他喪屍，讓死氣沉沉的世界出現了生機。然而，茱麗的爸爸基治奧 (尊麥高維治 飾) 是與喪屍勢不兩立、遇見喪屍必格殺勿論的大將軍，R 與茱麗的愛情要開花結果，似乎還需要一場革命……
