活屍日記一群大學生以及一位教授，正籌拍畢業作品，聽聞電視新聞報導有「活死人」出沒，於是決定拍攝實境恐怖影片，逐日紀錄活死人動態，他們來到森林拍攝，卻隨著鏡頭一路闖入活屍禁區，遭遇了疫情的爆發。原本只打算拍幾個片段的他們，必須面對不停湧現的活屍群，這些被被特殊誘因激發，群起瘋狂反撲的活屍們，將學生一個接一個生吞活剝，眼見一部恐怖經典就要在自己手中實現了，他們要如何逃過攻擊？拍攝的影片能否擊中活屍死穴？或有更多活屍的秘密？
