Compelled by a mysterious note, you step into the grand mansion. As you explore its dark corridors, you must solve cryptic puzzles, confront the residents, and uncover your purpose. SOMNIFUGE is a first-person indie horror game that blends exploration, puzzle-solving and psychological horror. Drawing inspiration from the eerie atmospheres of Silent Hill and Alone in the Dark—as well as the many indie horror games they influenced—SOMNIFUGE calls back to PSX-era horror with its retro visuals.

The Cat Lady (2012)The Cat Lady is a single-player horror graphic adventure and the second entry in the Devil Came Through Here trilogy, following Downfall and preceding Lorelai. It is a puzzle-based adventure played entirely with the four arrow keys, so characters move left and right between scenes while the up and down keys handle interacting with the environment and inventory. Dialogue is fully voiced, and occasional dialogue choices can shift the story and its ending slightly. Patterns of lights executing a Danse Macabre on the walls is presented by a queer device on the table. Having recalled nothing other than that you’re in Upuaut, an Antarctic base located near south pole, you find the place deserted and have a distinct feeling of something being terribly wrong. Somehow knowing that your memories cannot guide you enforces a strange feeling of vulnerability, a familiar yet alien sensation of being a part of a peculiar whole... Soon you will discover that having used the device during the expedition, you have died but then returned subtly changed, speaking of strange memories and of strange places. You have lost something important or gained something sinister... Explore the antarctic base, as well as dreams and visions. Study clues, unlock secrets but avoid macabre beings at all cost.

Path to Mnemosyne (2018)In Path to Mnemosyne, players will control a young woman moving through a grayscale cavern, running past the strange things she finds as they try to find a path through this underground nightmare. Players are able to walk on any route that has a path, though, which will mean turning the environment in order to create a way forward for the young woman. Players will also tangle with some strange puzzles, as well as the ever-changing surreal landscapes filled with skulls, alien hives, cave-like pupils, and other jarring sights. The game’s trailer hints at some of the discomforting music that will play along this adventure, looking to create a creeping sense of unease throughout the game.
