Reaching the bad or neutral ending first is part of the experience and helps the player understanding the true intentions of some of the NPCs and the impact of decisions made, so they may be reconsidered.
The Lurking Horror
The Lurking HorrorThe Lurking Horror is an interactive fiction game released by Infocom in 1987. The game was written by Dave Lebling and inspired by the horror fiction writings of H. P. Lovecraft (including his Cthulhu Mythos). Like most of Infocom's games, it was released for several platforms simultaneously thanks to the Z-machine. The original release included versions for DOS, the Apple II, Atari ST, Atari 8-bit family and Commodore 64. Later, it was ported to the Amiga with the addition of sound effects, making it the first title with that feature. The effects would play at appropriate times in the game in an effort to intensify the horror atmosphere. This marked one of the few major additions to the Z-machine with the exception of graphics; traditionally, Infocom had eschewed such changes in favor of expanding the parser capacity and overall size of game files. It was Infocom's 26th game; Infocom rated it as "Standard" in terms of difficulty. Lurking Horror was the only horror game ever released by Infocom.
Asylum
AsylumYou have woken up in a room like a cell. In the room is a bed with a box on it. Inside the box is a credit card. Looking around the room you see the door open, knowing this is an asylum you plan to escape. Your task is to escape from the Asylum using the objects you find to solve the problems. Along the way though you will encounter the other inmates. The game is a graphical text adventure. The screen is split into two halves. The top half shows what you can see in front of you, in the bottom is the text describing your surroundings: here you can type commands. Using the arrow keys you move yourself about a 3D maze. You can draw a map. since it is easy to get lost.
The Rats
The RatsThe game is generally played as a simulation that allow the player to strategically send emergency forces (rat exterminators, police men, fire men and eventually army troops) to areas where the rat threat has spread and provide them with available equipment. Also the player can get ten available researchers to develop addition weapons, defenses and super weapons to keep the rats at bay and to provide useful information to progress in the game. Should the rat threat reach beyond the London limits, the Research center, the Government center or Harris' apartment or if all emergency forces are lost, the game is over. In between the simulation game play, the game will suddenly switch to the role of a playable character in a randomly chosen text adventure scenario. The player has to select one or more verbal options to perform actions to allow the character to survive against the rat threat and avoid getting killed. While it is not crucial to keep the characters alive, saving them grants the player additional rein

Re-animating dead animal muscle: Notes, experiments, more notes, adjustments to my apparatus. My experiments became an obsession! I forgot about food, my body became wasted. My eyes stared wildly from sunken sockets. Friends had deserted me, considering me eccentric, I did not care! For I was destined to stand among the gods! Their equal, a creator... A giver of life itself!
Mad Doctor
Mad DoctorAs the Mad Doctor, you decide you'd like to build yourself a monster. To do this you must find body parts for your monster. To get these you can dig up graves or stealthily attack lone walkers late at night and beat the stuffing out of them. Then you take them back to your castle and either finish them off or lock them in your little dungeon until you're ready to 'request' their assistance in your endeavor. Finally, when you've found choice parts for your monster, you must take him to stonehenge (cliché alert) and have him struck by lightning to come to life. The residents of the village are not especially impressed by your idea and will attempt to stop you. Unlock the dark side of your psyche, turn the lights down low, put on a maniac-type laugh and go build yourself a monster.
