마마절망에 빠진 한 아버지가 두 어린 딸을 데리고 외딴 오두막으로 도망치고, 그곳에서 한 유령 같은 존재가 그를 죽이고 아이들을 키우기 시작합니다. 5년 후, 삼촌과 그의 연인이 아이들을 구조하여 사회로 복귀시키기 위해 양육권을 얻습니다. 하지만 그 무시무시한 영혼은 새 집까지 아이들을 따라와, 자신에게서 아이들을 떼어놓으려는 자는 누구든 파멸시킬 준비를 합니다.

트립분노만 남은 결혼 생활. 부부는 서로를 죽이려는 계획을 숨기고 외딴 산장으로 여행을 떠난다. 하지만 진짜 적은 서로가 아니었으니. 그곳에서 더 큰 위험이 두 사람을 기다리고 있다.
