Thug, is a documentary type style film about a filmmaking student from the suburbs who comes to the inner city of Newark New Jersey to document one of New Jersey's worst criminals named GINO. But things take a turn for the worse as he digs deeper, which makes Gino's True Colors come out that sets off a chain of unnerving events sending him on a killing spree against anyone who crossed him.

소름“촬영 기사 구함. 일당 천 달러. 자유재량권 보장.” 수상한 구인광고를 본 애론은 쉽게 돈을 벌 수 있겠다는 생각에 광고를 낸 조셉을 만나러 외딴 산골 마을로 떠난다. 그곳에서 조셉의 품성과 그가 구상한 프로젝트의 진정성을 느끼며 촬영을 시작하게 된 애론. 하지만 작업이 진행될수록, 믿었던 조셉이 점점 이상한 행동을 보이기 시작 하는데... 과 같은 저예산의 미국 장르 영화들을 마주하다 보면, 할리우드의 진정한 저력이란 결국 패트릭 브라이스 같은 독립 영화 감독들에게서 나오는 것이라는 생각을 지울 수가 없다. 이 영화 역시 화려한 특수 효과나 특별한 스타 없이도 관객들을 충분히 사로잡고도 남는다. 세심하면서 군더더기 없는 깔끔한 연출과 우스꽝스러울 정도로 현실적이고 공감 가는 캐릭터들이 보는 이로 하여금 눈을 뗄 수 없게 만드는 것이다. 이토록 재능 있는 감독과 배우의 끊임없는 등장은 미국의 영화 환경이 부러울 수 밖에 없는 이유이다
