흡혈식물 대소동스키드로우의 꽃가게 점원인 시모아 크레르몽(릭 모라니스 분)은 어릴 때 자신을 데려다 키운 주인 마슈닝(빈센트 가드니아 분)에게 하인처럼 혹사당한다. 그런 시모아의 유일한 안식처는 여점원 오드리(엘렌 그린 분)지만 그녀에게는 안타깝게도 오린 스크리베리(스티브 마틴 분)라는 애인이 있다. 어떤 일식날 시모아는 이상한 꽃을 사서 '오드리2'라는 이름을 붙여 기른다. 그 독특한 모습의 '오드리2'에 대한 소문은 금방 퍼져 가게는 고객들로 연일 붐비고 시모아는 매스컴의 세례를 받는 유명인이 된다. 그런데 어느날 시모아가 무심코 오드리 2를 만지자 그것이 손가락끝에 달라 붙어 피를 쪽쪽 빠는 것이 아닌가. 알고보니 그것은 흡혈식물이었던 것. 식물은 점점 커지면서 더 많은 피를 요구하는데...
