라카 (2017)닐 블롬캠프 감독의 'Oats Studios' SF 단편 프로젝트 첫번째작. 기술적으로 우월한 외계종족의 침략으로 무너져버린 인류에 대한 이야기이다. 절망적인 약탈과 무자비함에도 불구하고 사람들은 계속 싸울 용기가 남아있었다.

더 마더 (1985)한때 발레단의 프리마돈나였던 여자가 약물에 중독된 채 홀로 아이를 출산한다. 아이는커녕 제 몸 하나 돌볼 능력이 없던 그녀는 브로커에게 아이를 팔아버린다. 하지만 아이를 데려간 사람들이 유아 인신매매단이라는 충격적인 사실을 뒤늦게 알게 된다. 브로커를 처음 만났던 외딴 숲을 다시 찾아간 그녀. 낭만과 야만이 뒤섞인 듯, 기묘한 분위기를 풍기는 대저택에 이끌려 들어간다. 뜻 모를 붉은 표시들로 덧칠된 달력을 살펴보던 그녀는 정체 모를 여인들의 감시를 받고 있는 자신의 아기를 발견하게 되는데...아무도 예상하지 못했던 결말이 기다리는 그곳에서 아이를 되찾아야만 하는 그녀의 필사적인 몸부림이 시작된다!

오퍼레이터 (2013)로스엔젤레스 911 콜센터의 베테랑 직원 파멜라의 딸이 납치됐다. 납치범은 근무 중이던 그녀에게 전화를 걸어 자신의 전화를 끊어도, 지시를 불이행해도 딸을 죽이겠다고 협박한다. 뒤에서 파멜라를 조종하는 납치범 때문에 로스엔젤레스의 모든 경찰관과 소방관이 테러의 꼭두각시가 되고, 도시에는 자동차 충돌, 폭발과 총격이 난무한다. 범인의 정체도, 범죄의 목적도 알 수 없는 상황에서 파멜라는 전남편 제레미와 협력해 수수께끼를 파헤치려 한다. 만약 실패한다면 모든 범죄를 뒤집어써야 하는 상황. 딸을 살릴 것인가, 무고한 시민들을 구할 것인가. 파멜라와 제레미는 시시각각 그들의 숨통을 조여 오는 위험한 게임에 뛰어든다.

Smoker of the Future (1985)This anti-smoking public information film has the kind of stylistic sheen often associated with 1980s British advertising, with its sci-fi setting, filtered smoke and gloomy aesthetics clearly inspired by the works of Ridley Scott (although it’s directed by his contemporary, Barry Myers). It imagines a genetically advanced future humanoid who’s evolved to be a ‘natural born smoker’ – complete with enlarged nostrils and tapping finger - before reminding us that no such creature yet exists. While we expect smoking adverts to be disturbing, the titular character is disquieting in a refreshingly unusual sense.
