箪笥＜たんす＞ (2003)仲の良い姉妹が継母の陰謀で無念のまま亡くなり怨霊となってこの世によみがえるという、韓国ではおなじみの古典怪談「薔花紅蓮伝」をベースに、「クワイエット・ファミリー」「甘い人生」のキム・ジウン監督がスタイリッシュな音と映像を全編に駆使して戦慄の恐怖劇を構築。本国では公開第1週、韓国映画史上最高の動員記録を樹立。また、ハリウッドのドリームワークス社が韓国映画史上最高額（当時）でリメイク権を獲得し、2009年に「ゲスト」としてリメイクした。韓国、ソウル郊外に立つ一軒家。長い入院生活を終えて帰ってきた姉妹、スミとスヨンを継母ウンジュが笑顔で迎え入れる。だが姉スミは新しい母親に対し、嫌悪感を覚える。一方、ウンジュに対しておびえるような態度を見せる妹スヨンを、スミは自分が守ると優しくいたわるが、そんなスミ自身も夜、亡き実母の悪夢にうなされるようになる。その後、家のあちこちで怪奇現象が頻発するようになり、姉妹と継母の間の対立は深まるが……。
