インシディアス3人の子を持つルネとジョシュの夫婦は、引っ越しの矢先、物が移動したり、ベビーモニターから不気味な声が聞こえるなどの怪奇現象に悩まされる。そんな中、はしごから落ちた小学生の長男が昏睡状態に陥ってしまう。検査でも異常は見られなかったものの、なぜか長男は意識を回復しない。恐怖を感じたルネは夫に懇願して再び引っ越すが、彼らの後を追うように怪現象は止まず、ついに霊媒師や牧師に助けを求める。
