ブレア・ウィッチ・プロジェクト (1999)1994年10月、3人の若い制作者たちが暗い都市伝説のドキュメンタリーを撮影するため、メリーランド州の深い森へと分け入った。彼らが戻ることは二度となかった。12ヶ月後、現場で回収された映像資料によって、彼らの不可解な失踪の前に起きていたパラノイアと恐怖の恐ろしい連鎖が明るみに出る。

キャンディマン (1992)都市伝説について研究している大学院生のヘレンは、黒人居住区に伝わる「キャンディマン」の伝説を調査していた。「キャンディマン」とは、鏡の前でその名前を5回唱えると現れ、名前を呼んだ者を右腕に取り付けた鉤爪で殺害するという、伝説の殺人鬼であった。その伝説に懐疑的だったヘレンは、面白半分に鏡の前で「キャンディマン」の名前を5回唱えてしまう。それを境に、彼女の周囲で奇怪な殺人事件が次々と起きるようになる。
