Late one night, on a lonely south Georgia highway, a very strange car picks up an even stranger hitchhiker and the fates of all concerned become inextricably intertwined. Meet Dancy Flammarion, an orphaned albino girl who talks to angels and is intent on ridding the world of monsters. But what happens when one of the monsters decides to use her for his own dark ends? Caitlín R. Kiernan's <i><b>In the Garden of Poisonous Flowers</i></b> is a wickedly delicious novella that tells us a bit more about Dancy Flammarion. Dancy, an albino orphan whose angels tell her what monsters to kill, was a pivotal character in the author's second novel <i><b>Threshold</b></i> (2001). In <b><i>Garden</i></b>'s 85 pages you'll also meet The Bailiff - a mysterious gentleman who travels with two vampires - and Miss Aramat Drawdes, the unspoken matriarch of the Stephens Ward Tea League and Society of Resurrectionists.
