Filmmaker friends Mark and Andy investigate the legend of Typhoid Mary, a girl who was locked up in an insane asylum that was believed to be haunted. But bad things start to happen after Andy's fiancée conducts a séance to summon Mary's spirit.

Un po' per gioco, un po' per provare la sua nuova telecamera, di cui è particolarmente fiero, Micah decide di riprendere quasi tutto ciò che fanno lui e Katie, ma soprattutto di lasciare la telecamera accesa nella loro camera da letto, di notte, per verificare se effettivamente accada qualcosa mentre dormono. La presenza della videocamera sembra tuttavia scatenare un'escalation di attività paranormali e a soffrirne è soprattutto Katie, che si sente direttamente perseguitata dall'entità negativa.
