It all starts with a harmless game of tag in the woods. A group of friends celebrate victory and defeat in a clearing. But a simple argument between a boy and a girl ends disastrously. The enraged boy drags the girl into the woods, beats her up, and kills her brutally. Little by little, he kills each of his friends who try to track him down.

Disgustato dal suo stesso aspetto, il giovane Hewitt iniziò a crearsi maschere con la pelle di animali trovati morti e fu assunto a lavorare nella stessa macelleria in cui lavorava sua madre. Quando però tale industria di carne chiuse, Thomas fu licenziato. Non accettando questo fatto, il ragazzo aspettò il proprietario nel suo studio e lo uccise a martellate; inoltre, trovata una motosega, il folle iniziò ad aggirarsi senza meta lungo la strada principale del paese.
