Sinopsis

Al comienzo del relato que da título al libro, el protagonista, Jim Shorthouse, recibe una llamada de su tía Julia para que investigue una casa de su pueblo de la que se dice que está encantada. Intrigado, aunque reticente, Shorthouse descubre que su tía ha conseguido las llaves para pasar allí el fin de semana y explorar los misterios que se esconden entre las paredes de la casa. Pronto se enteran de una oscura historia relacionada con un asesinato, lo que añade urgencia y tensión a su aventura. A medida que se adentran en la casa, se producen sucesos extraños y crece el pavor, lo que pone a prueba su determinación y revela la siniestra presencia de la casa. El comienzo prepara el escenario para una exploración del miedo y lo sobrenatural, invitando a los lectores a acompañar a Shorthouse y a su tía en su inquietante aventura.
