As time passes, marked by days on a chalkboard, her appearances deteriorate. She becomes obsessed with the creature, covering the cabin walls with drawing and photographs. She realises the figure can only be seen through the camera, never with her own eyes. One night, she is awakened by a low hum and sees the figure watching her in the distances. She cases it into the forest until it led her to a hollow tree and disappears. She takes a photo as proof, but as she turns back, something drags her into the darkness, dropping the camera. The final image develops, revealing not the tree, but her looking at the tree.
