Als die Männer dann auch noch eine alte Ritualstätte finden und sich unerklärliche Dinge ereignen, wird der Ausflug zum Kampf ums Überleben.

ExistsVoller Vorfreude fahren die fünf Freunde Dora, Elizabeth, Matt, Todd und Brian in das Big-Thicket-Naturschutzgebiet in Texas, um dem Großstadtleben eine Weile zu entkommen. Doch schon auf der Hinfahrt trübt ein Unfall auf einer verwahrlosten Landstraße das Vergnügen. Zum Glück hatten sie ihr Ziel fast erreicht, sodass sie sich zu Fuß zu einer kleinen Hütte im Wald durchschlagen. Diese ist allerdings ziemlich heruntergekommen. Viel schlimmer aber ist die Angst, die sich unter den abenteuerlustigen Campern breit macht, als sie um sich herum ungewöhnliche Dinge hören und sehen. Ausgestattet mit allerlei Kameraequipment fangen sie etwas ein, von dem es zwar unzählige Legenden gibt, an das keiner von ihnen aber bisher geglaubt hatte. Diese blutrünstige Kreatur, weder Tier noch Mensch, begibt sich auf die Jagd und in seinem Revier liegt die einzige Chance auf Überleben in der Flucht.
