Paranormal ActivityKatie studiert und ihr Freund Micah, mit dem sie in San Diego eine Wohnung teilt, ist freier Börsenmakler. Katie glaubt, seit Kindheitstagen von einem unsichtbaren Wesen heimgesucht zu werden. Micah will der Sache auf den Grund gehen und filmt nachts mit einer DV-Kamera in ihrem Schlafzimmer. Erst sind nur Geräusche zu hören, doch dann wird der Geist mit zunehmender Aggressivität auch sichtbar. Katie bekommt es immer mehr mit der Angst zu tun. Ein Parapsychologe rät ihnen, möglichst keinen Kontakt mit dem Geist aufzubauen.

Grave Encounters 2Der Filmstudent Alex Wright ist ein Horrorfilm-Junkie wie er im Buche steht. Auf seinem Youtube-Kanal bespricht er täglich diverse Horrorwerke. Von dem Film "Grave Encounters" ist er besonders gefesselt, nach kurzer Zeit ist er geradezu besessen von dem Werk. Als Alex herausfindet, dass die gesamte Besetzung von "Grave Encounters" als verschollen gilt, trommelt er seine Freunde zusammen und gemeinsam besuchen sie die reale psychiatrische Anstalt, in der der Film spielt. Doch dann passieren vermehrt merkwürdige Dinge in Alex' Umfeld und es erhärtet sich der Verdacht, dass der Film etwas damit zu tun haben könnte. Waren die Ereignisse aus "Grave Encounters" etwa tatsächlich real? Mit ihrem Wissen aus dem ersten Teil versuchen die Freunde, das unaussprechlich Böse zu überstehen. Dabei gehen sie weiter als die Protagonisten im Film und decken ein furchtbares Geheimnis auf...
