Ya hemos pasado por la grave sensación de que todos querían transformar la esencia del vampiro, y después del retorno de la serie “Lestat, el Vampiro” basado en la novela de Anne Rice, todos hemos querido conocer los entresijos de una criatura que siempre está al borde de hincarte el diente o follarte viva. Ahora con la llegada de “La Reina de los condenados”, en su momento caracterizada por la sensualísima Aaliyah, la mayoría de los directores han querido otorgarle a esta figura un poco de su propia cuchara. Tuvimos “Renfield” (2023), “The Last Voyage of the Demeter” (2023), “Humanist Vampire Seeking Consenting Suicidal Person” (2023), cuya reseña hice hace poco en la web, “Nosferatu” (2024), que es un circo completo, “Abigail” (2024), “Salem´s Lot” (2024), “Sinners” (2025) y “Drácula: A Love Tale (2025). Esta comedia que comprende una fuerte crítica hacia el matrimonio tiene tanto tinte de terror como yo de mala hostia. Hacía tanto que el nacimiento de una vampira no me despertaba tantas sensaciones que encontrarme con esta película fue como un chute de feromonas o vitamina D a raudales. Uma es como el animal espiritual de cualquier chica de entre 20 y 30 años. Estamos tan jodidas que necesitamos algo que nos mueva (o nos conmueva) pero acabamos siendo devoradas por el tedio, entonces descubrimos que no podemos comer ni beber al menos que sea sangre. Y con eso se resumiría el sueño adolescente de una gótica. Por favor, no preguntéis tanto y mirad la maldita película.

But it’s not really about marriage; no, ladies and gentlemen, we are witnessing the slow, inexorable transformation of a bloodsucker. Ugh, I love it. It’s been so long since the birth of a female vampire stirred up this many feelings in me; running into this movie felt like a massive hit of pheromones or pure vitamin D.
Uma is basically the spirit animal of any girl in her twenties or thirties. We’re so deeply fucked that we need something to move us (or touch us), only to end up consumed by sheer boredom—until we realize we can’t eat or drink anything unless it’s blood. That pretty much sums up every goth teen's dream. Please, stop asking so many questions and just watch the damn movie.
