Biography
オーストラリア出身。1988年頃から俳優としてTVドラマに出演しはじめ、92年、オーストラリアTV業界の最高峰と言われるロギー賞で人気新人タレント賞を受賞。その後、米ロサンゼルスに移り、映画「L.A.コンフィデンシャル」（97）を皮切りに、アン・リー監督の「楽園をください」（99）、ジョージ・A・ロメロ監督の「ランド・オブ・ザ・デッド」（05）、アン・ハサウェイ主演作「プラダを着た悪魔」（06）などに出演。人気TVシリーズ「メンタリスト」（08～15）で、鋭い観察眼と心理術を駆使して犯罪を解決に導く主人公パトリック役を演じ、国際的な人気俳優となる。特技のサーフィンの腕を生かした主演映画「ブレス あの波の向こうへ」（18）では製作と共同脚本を兼ね、長編映画監督デビューを果たした。
