Biography
アルゼンチン・ブエノスアイレス出身。父は同国の高名な新具象派画家ルイス・フェリペ・ノエ。子ども時代を米ニューヨークで過ごし、1976年にフランスへ移住し、パリのルイ・リュミエール国立高等学校に進学する。1991年の監督・脚本作「カルネ」は本国でロングランヒットを記録し、日本でも話題を呼んだ。続編「カノン」（98）では製作・監督・脚本・撮影・編集を一手に手がけ、モニカ・ベルッチ＆バンサン・カッセルを主演に迎えた「アレックス」（02）では、カンヌ国際映画祭コンペティション部門で初披露された際に壮絶な性暴力描写で物議を醸した。その後も、東京を舞台にしたトリップムービー「エンター・ザ・ボイド」（09）、大胆な性描写を3Dで撮影した「LOVE 3D」（15）と野心作を発表する。そのほか、オムニバス映画「8 Eight」（08）、「セブン・デイズ・イン・ハバナ」（12）に監督として参加した。
