The Masque of the Red Death『赤き死の仮面』（当初は『赤き死の仮面：ある幻想』として発表）は、アメリカの作家エドガー・アラン・ポーによる短編小説で、1842年に初めて発表された。物語は、プロスペロ公爵が「赤き死」として知られる危険な疫病を避けるため、自身の修道院に閉じこもる試みを追う。彼は他の多くの裕福な貴族たちとともに、それぞれ異なる色で装飾された修道院の7つの部屋で仮面舞踏会を開催する。歓楽の最中、赤き死の犠牲者に変装した謎の人物が侵入し、それぞれの部屋を通り抜けていく。プロスペロはこの見知らぬ男に立ち向かった後に死亡するが、男の「衣装」の中には実体のあるものが何も含まれていないことが判明し、客たちも次々と死んでいく。 この物語は1842年5月に『グラハムズ・マガジン』で初めて発表され、以来、ヴィンセント・プライスが主演した1964年の映画を含め、多くの異なる形で脚色されてきた。ポーの短編小説は、様々なメディアの他の作品でも言及されている。
