Demons Ring (1984)Demons Ring is an "Occult Fantasy Adventure" game released in March 12, 1984 for the NEC PC-88 and was an early title developed by Nihon Falcom. The game involves the player solving puzzles by interacting with the environment through the use of a text parser and was an example of Falcom's technical know-how at the time. Every contemporary Japanese adventure game released for computers during this period would draw its graphics line-by-line and slowly fill in the colors, a long process that would need to be done anytime the scene changed to a new image. Demons Ring, on the other hand, could transition to different images in under half a second, a feature that was heavily advertised by Falcom and something that would eventually become a standard for the genre moving forward.
Ijigen Kara no Dasshutsu: Escape from Twilight Zone (1984)An adventure game developed Falcom about an officer worker that finds himself transported to an alternate dimension while returning home late at night.
Mystery House II (1982)Mystery House II is an adventure game in Japanese and the sequel to the 1982 title Mystery House, which is in turn inspired by the 1980 title Hi-Res Adventure #1: Mystery House. Just like in the first game the goal is to explore a mysterious house and discover the treasure hidden inside by gathering four notes that provide clues. Exploration is similar to the first game, using N/S/E/W to move through the environments shown using a first-person perspective and drawn with outlines. At the bottom commands are entered, such as TAKE, READ or SEARCH. Items can be picked up and used elsewhere to solve puzzles. Compared to the first game the environment is now much larger as the house consists of three floors and the environment can be explored as well.

Transylvania (1982)A game with a text interface and optional graphics. Players must locate the missing Princess Sabrina while surviving the hostile land.
