Biography
Née le 16 mai 1986 à Oak Ridge, dans le Tennessee, Megan Fox grandit dans un environnement pentecôtiste strict. Elle prend des cours de danse et de théâtre dès cinq ans, se lance dans le mannequinat à treize ans, puis quitte sa famille à dix-sept ans pour tenter sa chance à Los Angeles. Ses premiers rôles sont télévisés, notamment dans La Star de la famille (2004-2006). C'est Michael Bay qui la propulse au rang de star mondiale en lui confiant le rôle de Mikaela Banes dans Transformers (2007), blockbuster colossal produit par Steven Spielberg. Elle reprend le rôle dans la suite en 2009 et, la même année, tient le premier rôle de Jennifer's Body, comédie horrifique de Karyn Kusama d'abord boudée par le public, devenue depuis culte auprès d'une nouvelle génération. La décennie suivante est plus chaotique, entre Jonah Hex (2010), échec cuisant, et des apparitions dans des comédies comme 40 ans : Mode d'emploi (2012) ou Ninja Turtles (2014). Elle retrouve le devant de la scène à partir de 2020 avec des productions de genre variées, dont Expendables 4 (2023). En 2023, elle publie également un recueil de poésie, Pretty Boys Are Poisonous.
