Murder of the Inugami ClanInugami Sahei, who built up the wealth of the Inugami Clan, passes away, leaving a will with Furudate, his legal adviser, for his daughters Matsuko, Takeko and Umeko, all of whom have different mothers, and for their sons, as well as for Nonomiya Tamayo, the granddaughter of a person to whom Sahei feels heavily indebted. The will states that all his assets are inherited by Tamayo alone, on the condition that she marries one of the sons of the daughters. Furudate's assistant learns the content of the will, and seeks advice from Kindaichi Kosuke, a private detective, as he senses the air of unease. Shortly afterwards, murders start to occur one after another in the clan.

HypnoticLe docteur Michael Strother, hypnothérapeute, possède un don dangereux : lors de ses consultations, il est traversé par des flashes venant de l'esprit de ses patients. Alors qu'il essaie d'aider une femme flic, l'inspecteur Losey, à arrêter de fumer, il voit dans son esprit l'image d'une jeune fille flottant sous la surface d'un torrent. Losey travaille en fait sur une affaire dans laquelle une adolescente, Heather, a disparu. Le Dr. Strother se retrouve bientôt impliqué, aux côtés de l'inspecteur, dans la traque d'un tueur ritualiste qui croit avoir trouvé le secret de l'immortalité. Le duo engage bientôt les services d'Elliot, l'excentrique propriétaire d'un magasin de modèles réduits, pour décrypter les tatouages bizarres laissés sur le bras de la jeune fille. L'enquête va mener Strother et Losey dans les territoires méconnus et inquiétants de croyances religieuses ésotériques.

The authors' interest focuses primarily on the silent film era, with a journey through the history of cinema continuing through the advent of sound film to the present day (auteur cinema of the 1960s, modern horror), formally employing techniques such as tinted film. The versatile parody intertwines a colorful plot with the story of the author (Váchal/Paseky), who comments on and creates his book, and is further split in the plot into the characters of Fragonard and the Master. As with Váchal, reality increasingly enters the fiction, so that the only "happy ending" turns out to be the artist's finished work.
