Biography

Vicky Kaushal (born May 16, 1988) is an Indian actor who works predominantly in Hindi cinema. After working as an assistant director on the two-part *Gangs of Wasseypur* (2012) and making minor screen appearances, he played his first leading role in *Masaan* (2015), winning the IIFA Award for Star Debut of the Year – Male. He subsequently starred in *Raman Raghav 2.0* (2016). In 2018, Kaushal gained wider recognition appearing in *Raazi*, *Love per Square Foot*, *Lust Stories*, and *Manmarziyaan*. For his supporting role in *Sanju* (2018), he won the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor. He received the National Film Award for Best Actor for headlining *Uri: The Surgical Strike* (2019). His subsequent releases included *Bhoot: Part One - The Haunted Ship* (2020) and the biographical drama *Sardar Udham* (2021), for which he won the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor. He later appeared in *Govinda Naam Mera* (2022), *Zara Hatke Zara Bachke* (2023), the biographical drama *Sam Bahadur* (2023), *Dunki* (2023), and *Bad Newz* (2024).
