Jim Wynorski ist ein US-amerikanischer Drehbuchautor, Regisseur und Produzent. Er ist bekannt für seine B-Movies, Actionfilme, Monsterfilme, Softpornos und Exploitationfilme. Wynorskis erstes produziertes Drehbuch war Forbidden World (1982). Er schrieb auch Sorceress für 1.000 Dollar und schrieb und produzierte Screwballs (1983), eine Komödie im Stil von Porky's. Wynorski gab sein Regiedebüt mit The Lost Empire (1984). Sein zweiter Film, Chopping Mall (1986), den Wynorski auch produzierte und mitschrieb, wurde für Julie Corman gedreht. Julies Ehemann Roger Corman gefiel der Film und er engagierte Wynorski für die Produktion von Deathstalker 2, dann für Big Bad Mama II (1987) und für ein Remake von Cormans Not of this Earth namens Der Vampir aus dem All (1988) mit Traci Lords.
