Biografie
Álvaro Luis Bernat „Tony“ Dalton (* 13. Februar 1975) ist ein US-amerikanisch-mexikanischer Schauspieler. Er wirkte den Großteil seiner Karriere in mexikanischen Filmen, Fernsehserien und Theaterstücken mit. In den USA ist er vor allem für seine Rolle als Lalo Salamanca in „Better Call Saul“ (2018–2022) bekannt. Außerdem spielte er Jack Duquesne in der Marvel-Miniserie „Hawkeye“ (2021). Álvaro Luis Bernat Dalton wurde am 13. Februar 1975 in Laredo, Texas, als Sohn einer US-Amerikanerin und eines Mexikaners geboren. Er besuchte die Eaglebrook School in Deerfield, Massachusetts, und studierte anschließend Schauspiel am Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York City. Daltons erste große Rolle war in der mexikanischen Telenovela „Rebelde“ (2004–2006). Seine erste Filmrolle hatte er in „Matando Cabos“ (2004), an dem er auch als Co-Autor mitwirkte. Später schrieb er das Drehbuch zu „Sultanes del Sur“ (2007), in dem er auch die Hauptrolle spielte. Zu seinen weiteren Filmen zählen „Violanchelo“ (2008) und „The Perfect Dictatorship“ (2014). Außerdem hatte er eine Nebenrolle in der HBO-Latin-America-Serie „Capadocia“ (2008). In der HBO-Serie „Sr. Ávila“ (2017) spielte er die Hauptrolle; die Serie wurde mit dem International Emmy Award als beste nicht-englischsprachige Serie ausgezeichnet. Dalton verkörperte Lalo Salamanca in „Better Call Saul“ (2018–2022) und hatte seinen ersten Auftritt in der vierten Staffel, Folge „Coushatta“. Seine Darstellung wurde von der Kritik hoch gelobt und brachte ihm Nominierungen für einen Screen Actors Guild Award und zwei Saturn Awards ein. Einige Kritiker bezeichneten Lalo als einen der besten Bösewichte im Fernsehen.
