Miles Teller, geboren am 20. Februar 1987 in Downingtown, Pennsylvania, ist ein amerikanischer Schauspieler. Gemeinsam mit seiner Filmpartnerin Shailene Woodley gewann er den Special Jury Prize for Dramatic Acting beim 2013 Sundance Film Festival für seine Rolle in der Teenie-Romanze The Spectacular Now. BiografieMiles Alexander Teller wurde 1987 als Sohn von Merry Teller, einer Immobilienmaklerin, und Mike Teller, einem Betriebsingenieur, geboren. Seine Eltern stammen ursprünglich aus New Jersey. Teller wuchs mit zwei älteren Schwestern auf. Er hat englische, irische, polnische, französische und russische Wurzeln. In der High School spielte Miles Saxophon und Schlagzeug, wie er später in dem Musikdrama Whiplash an der Seite von J.K. Simmons unter Beweis stellt. Außerdem war er Vorsitzender des Theaterclubs und machte später seinen Abschluss an der Tisch School of Arts an der New York University. Bevor er sein Spielfilmdebut gab, wirkte Miles Teller in mehreren Kurzfilmen mit. 2010 folgte sein Debut mit Rabbit Hole an der Seite von Nicole Kidman. Ein Jahr später verkörperte er die Rolle des tanzenden Willard Hewitt in dem Remake Footloose. Im Jahr 2013 wurde er bekannt durch die Komödie 21 and Over, bei dem Jon Lucas und Scott Moore als Drehbuchautoren und Regisseure fungierten. Spätestens seit The Spectacular Now wurde Miles Teller von Kritikern geschätzt. Seine Performance brachte ihm mehrere Nominierungen und einen Award beim Sundance Film Festival 2013 ein. 2014 war er erneut neben Shailene Woodley in dem Dystopie-Mehrteiler Die Bestimmung – Divergent zu sehen. Außerdem kehrte er 2014 auf das Sundance Film Festival zurück, wo er dieses Mal das Musikdrama Whiplash vorstellte. Neben Zac Efron und Michael B. Jordan war er außerdem in der Komödie Für immer Single? zu sehen. Zu Tellers zukünftigen Projecten zählen unter anderem ein Biopic über John Belushi, in dem er die Rolle des Dan Aykroyd übernehmen wird. Weiterhin wird er den Superhelden Dr. Reed Richards aka Mister Fantastic in der neuen Version von Fantastic 4 verkörpern.
